Our Mission
To provide young musicians with an exceptional learning and performance experience and an appreciation of music.

The Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County is made up of nearly 200 young musicians, ages seven to 22, in three orchestras, chamber ensembles, orchestra summer camp, summer pops orchestra, and a music education community outreach program.
What began as an all-county honors orchestra in the spring of 1994 has developed into an outstanding three-tiered orchestral training program for young musicians, ages 7 to 22. Approximately 180 young musicians participate in three orchestras – String, Symphony, and Philharmonic – and numerous chamber ensembles which rehearse and perform from August to May each season throughout Palm Beach County.
Many more musicians are introduced to string instruments through YOPBC’s Music Education Outreach Program at targeted Palm Beach County schools. Still others continue their training in the fun, relaxed atmosphere of the YOPBC Summer Pops Orchestra Program, and Orchestra Summer Camp.
Many of our early graduates are now professional musicians performing as members of the world’s most prestigious orchestras, chamber ensembles, jazz ensembles and bands. Some of our graduates have chosen other careers and entered the professional world as lawyers, engineers, businessmen and teachers. More recent graduates are currently enrolled in some of the finest colleges, universities, schools of music and music conservatories in the nation. Whatever direction their lives may take in the future, we are proud to have had the opportunity to enhance their school years with the thrill of performing great music as members of the Youth Orchestra of Palm Beach County.
