YOPBC Chamber Program
The YOPBC Chamber Ensemble program is open to YO members performing at an “Intermediate” to “Highly Advanced” level from each of the YOPBC Orchestras.
Acceptance to Chamber Ensembles is by audition only.
Rehearsals will focus on the development of instrumental and music technique, music literacy, ensemble skills and aesthetic musical awareness. Students will learn the importance of productivity and accountability as the group sets and meets goals through active participation and responsibility. Reflection, analytical assessment and problem solving skills will be used consistently as students communicate and collaborate to improve their own and others’ performance.
Students and families are expected to demonstrate a high level of commitment and responsibility to their ensemble and exhibit (at the minimum) an intermediate level of performance and concert etiquette.
The Standard Ensembles will attend weekly rehearsals and, once deemed prepared by the Music Director, will perform at YOPBC scheduled concerts and events.
Honors Touring Ensembles
The Touring Ensembles are open to musicians by audition only. Musicians selected for one of the Touring Ensembles will be expected to demonstrate a high level of commitment and responsibility to their ensemble as well as exhibit an advanced level of performance and concert etiquette. Students and families will also be expected to maintain a flexible schedule to accommodate additional rehearsals or performances. The genre of Honors Ensembles will depend of the level of musicianship and responsibility of auditioning musicians.
The Touring Ensembles will attend weekly rehearsals and, once deemed prepared by the Music Director, will perform at YOPBC scheduled concerts and events as well as perform at Outreach and community events, as presented to and scheduled by YOPBC throughout the year.
